UF: Gators Well Represented at Inaugural WPLL Draft

  via press release, photo via UF web site   GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The newly formed Women’s Professional Lacrosse League held its inaugural draft on Wednesday night in preparation for the league’s debut in the summer of 2018. Four former University of Florida lacrosse players: Caroline FitzgeraldNicole GrazianoLauren Lea and Mollie Stevens were selected, along with current Gator assistant coaches Nadine Hadnagy and Taryn VanThof. Complete Draft Results Fitzgerald and Graziano will reunite as teammates on the New York Fight, as the duo played together at Florida together from 2014-16. 2016 graduate, Lea joins the Philadelphia Fire after logging 79 games in orange and blue as a midfielder. Following a record-setting senior campaign in 2017, Mollie Stevens was selected by the Upstate Pride along with new Gator assistant and Maryland graduate, Nadine Hadnagy. Entering her second year as an assistant coach at Florida, Taryn VanThof will represent the New England Command after playing two seasons for the Long Island Sound in United Women’s Lacrosse. A total of 100 women were selected in Wednesday night’s draft, with a Showcase Game set for Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 in Sparks, Md. Follow the Gators #FLax Twitter Instagram Facebook
