Author’s Note:  We received a request from HC Tucker Clancy of the UNF Ospreys to publicly thank all the Florida lacrosse community for their generosity in helping to fund their MCLA D2 Tournament trip to Utah last week and here it is:

  Dear Florida Lacrosse News Readers, I am the head coach at the University of North Florida (UNF).  I asked FLN to share this message from my players, my assistant coaches and myself.  Thank You!  We cannot thank you enough!  Two weeks ago, we won our very first conference tournament.  We found ourselves in a position to play for the national title in the MCLA.  Our problem was that we lacked the financial resources to get to the tournament.  It is through generous people like you that we raised enough money to make the trip. While we fell short of our goal (we lost in the quarterfinals), that doesn’t quell our appreciation of the Florida lacrosse community.  People with zero connection to UNF Lacrosse gave money to finance the trip.  As a long time coach in the State of Florida, I am humbled by the generosity of the Florida lacrosse community.  You gave my players the chance to reach for a dream. I can’t say it enough to all FLN readers, Thank You!  Your efforts allowed my kids to chase a dream!  While our dreams did not materialize this season, we have the building blocks to chase it again next season.
