Flagler Women Jump out 5-0, Never Trail in 15-10 Win over Assumption; Morton 5G, 3 Other Hat Tricks Lead the Way

No. 10 Saints dominate No. 22 Greyhounds

ST. AUGUSTINE- Lexie Morton scored five goals alongside a dominating offense to bring No. 10 (IWLCA Division II Top 25) Flagler College to a 15-10 victory over No. 22 Assumption University Sunday evening at the Flagler Lacrosse Field.

The Saints improve to 6-1 overall and the Greyhounds drop to 1-1.

Although the Greyhounds fell short, Olivia Catanzarite managed to score four goals for her team.

Morton, Claudia TanksleySydney Onega, and Carley Tepel scored a goal apiece in the first quarter shutting out the Greyhounds, 4-0.

Tanksley, Onega, and Tristan Usher all managed to score hat tricks for Flagler tonight.

The Saints built a 10-4 lead in the first half and never let up.

Assumption attempted to come back in the second half scoring the first two goals of the third quarter, but it wasn’t enough.

The Saints stood out defensively with Ella Pinder and Carly LaFerriere collecting five draw controls each. Pinder also earned and surpassed her 100th career draw control tonight.

Molly Sloan caused three turnovers and collected three ground balls for the Saints, while goalie Lauren Ribadeneira made nine saves.

Greyhounds goalie Skylar Troyan also did well with seven saves before receiving a red card.

The Saints will be back in action on March 8 at 5 p.m. against Seton Hill University on the Flagler Lacrosse Field.
