Flagler Women’s Lacrosse Sweeps GSC Weekly Honors Again

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Flagler College made a clean sweep of the Gulf South Conference’s women’s lacrosse weekly honors for the second consecutive week as attacker Carley Tepel was named player of the week, Jenn Seebach was tabbed as the defensive player of the week, and midfield Ella Pinder was selected as the freshman of the week as released by conference officials on Tuesday.

Tepel scored seven goals and tallied one assist to help lead No. 15 (IWLCA Division II Top 25) Flagler to a 2-0 week. The freshman from Hollywood, Maryland scored a season-high five goals in the Saints’ 18-11 win over No. 18 Saint Leo University. She added two goals and an assist in a win over Newberry College. Tepel is sixth in the Gulf South in goals per game (2.50), seventh in shots per game (5.25), and 10th in points per game (2.63).  

Seebach finished the week with seven ground balls and eight caused turnovers. The sophomore from Manorville, New York, broke the school record for caused turnovers in a game with six against Saint Leo. Her four ground balls against Newberry College was a career high.

Pinder scored four goals, tallied three assists, had seven draw controls, and three ground balls. The Millington, Maryland native tied her season-high with two goals and had a season-high two assists in the victory over Newberry.

Flagler takes on Palm Beach Atlantic University at 1 p.m. today at the Flagler Lacrosse Field.
