Not able is this the last, but also the hardest one for me, since so many teams could have fit into the bottom third of this Poll.
You’ll see a larger list of ‘Also Considered’, and I could have gone deeper!
St. Thomas lost to LHP, so they drop. Jupiter lost to SA and Lake Mary took down Ponte Vedra, hence the shakeup. Winter Park has also looked very tough, while Plant falls from two losses.
Lake Mary and Winter Park play Friday and I hope that one is streamed, at the least . . . are you listening Varsity Sports Network?
Plenty of games coming up this week too!
Okay, here we go!
1) Lake Mary (4-0) – wins over PV and Jesuit and WP on Friday (VSN, PLEASE!!!!!)
2) Ponte Vedra (3-1) – Region 1 final can’t come soon enough. Plant and Mooney this week.
3) Winter Park (4-0) – bombs away on offense
4) St. Thomas (2-1) – Coach gets his wish with this ranking . . .
5) Jupiter (4-1) – TBDDFIF renews tomorrow
6) Plant (3-2) – Ponte Vedra tomorrow . . .
7) Mitchell (5-1) – can they take that last step past the team above them?
8) Nease (2-3) – lost competitive games to Bolles and PV, a sneaky great game on April 1st at Holy Trinity
9) Windermere (4-1) – nice win over Newsome gets them the nod, with an interesting trip to Viera on Friday
10) Newsome (4-1) – win over Alonso gets the nod
11) Alonso (4-1) – For some reason, driving to Naples on Alligator Alley made me think of them . . . tonight’s Steinbrenner game could be very important for seeding
12) Viera (4-1) – a nice surprise step up this season, can they prove it the whole season?
13) Western (3-0) – a much lighter schedule this season will limit some upside moves
14) Forest (3-2) – first win over Creekside in a while
15) Niceville (4-0) / Creekside (4-1) – I probably could have listed many of the teams below this line too. Let it play out the next few weeks.
Also Considered: Columbus, Hagerty, Steinbrenner, Bartram Trail, Spanish River, Stoneman, Miami Palmetto
