FLN Girls 1A Top 10 for the Week Ending 3/20/22!

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in , , , .

Three weeks to go in the regular season and we saw a lot of intersectional play in what was a light week of spring break games. A number of the results shifted this poll!

The anticipated matchup of #1 vs #1 led to AH-Delray pulling away in the second half to down 2A #1 Bartram Trail, only to see BT rebound the next day to handle 1A #3 Pine Crest. AH-Delray then dropped their next game against Inside Lacrosse National #1 St. Paul’s of Maryland, a game they were deadlocked at 7-7 at the half.

Lake Highland rebounded from their Steinbrenner loss with a solid win over St. Thomas on Friday, along with a midweek win over Valor Christian of Colorado. Their Vero Beach game was postponed, and they face a week of traveling to Episcopal School of Jax and hosting Pine Crest.

Besides the trip to LHP, Pine Crest also faces a trip to co-#10 King’s Academy.

Benjamin did not play this week and are facing Community School Tuesday, Palm Beach Central on Wednesday and Oxbridge on Thursday.

Episcopal School of Jacksonville beat #6 Bishop Moore 8-7 and the LHP game is a chance for a big leap up should they win.

Out-of-Door Academy moves up with an 8-0 record and the one goal win over St. Stephen’s and a win over Berkeley Prep, and they look like they could run the table in the regular season.

After losing to ODA, St. Stephen’s rebounded with the one goal home win over co-#10 King’s Academy. They host Riverview-Sarasota Tuesday.

Bishop Moore falls two spots this week after the Episcopal loss, they are at Hagerty Tuesday and host 2A #7 Plant on Friday.

South Fork did not play last week, and they are being tested this week with road games at Palm Beach Central on Wednesday and St. Edward’s Thursday.

Saint Edward’s hosts Jensen Beach on Tuesday and the South Fork game mentioned above while King’s has their Pine Crest game this week.

Saint Andrew’s hasn’t played for a while and has a relatively light schedule the rest of the way, so I’ll let them play themselves back into the Top 10. Holy Names lost to Gulf Coast and that drops them out, along with Berkeley Prep and Gulf Breeze. They can both play their way back in with the schedules they still have.
