via press release from HC Brian Coco   Last Friday, Florida Atlantic University announced a new head coach for the 2017 season.  The following day, #12 FAU fell to #6 ranked Citadel in an exciting DII battle that was decided by only one goal. The game was the first of the MCLA’s SELC conference for the season “I had about 2-hours of practice as head coach before our first game.” Said Coach Bryan Coco, “I’m okay with the results.” “We had about 5 man-up opportunities we didn’t capitalize on.” “Next week, that will be our focus.”  Coco, who originally founded the men’s lacrosse program at FAU went on to say. “Our goal this season is to take the program to the next level, we’ve got some great talent this year and we intend to capitalize on that.” Growing up in Long Island’s hotbed of lacrosse, Coach Coco has been heavily involved in the sports growth in S. Florida. Before FAU, Coco was a Head Coach at North Broward Preparatory alongside Coach Ryan Burton, and an Assistant Coach at West Boca High under Coach Dan Dickenson. Bryan has held positions with the Palm Beach County Sports Commission and Miami Dolphins. “2017 should be a great year for our program,” Coach Coco went on to say. Things are looking up for the Owls as they head to Melbourne to take on newcomer Eastern Florida State College this Saturday at 2pm.
