BOX SCORE

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Callison Foreman scored a career-high five goals to lead the 12th-ranked Embry-Riddle women’s lacrosse team past No. 24 Mount Olive on Tuesday afternoon. The Eagles won 16-7 and remain undefeated at 3-0 while Mount Olive moves to 1-1

Foreman led all players in scoring, finishing five of her 10 shots and adding an assist. Samantha Reich and Eliana Enners netted three goals apiece while Kenley Zeruto tallied a game-high four assists.

The Eagles got off to a quick start in Tuesday’s game, winning the first two draws and scoring twice in the first 1:03. A dominant first quarter saw the Blue and Gold win five of six draws and outshoot the Trojans 9-1 to take a 5-1 lead into the second quarter.

After Foreman scored the first goal of the second, the Eagles went scoreless over the next five minutes. During that stretch, the Trojans scored three times to cut the Eagle lead to 6-4. Mount Olive managed another goal at the 7:04 mark, but the Eagles countered with two goals of their own to go into the halftime break up 8-5.

Reich capitalized on a woman-up opportunity to score the first goal of the third quarter at the 12:13 mark. The Trojans converted on a one-player advantage of their own, but three unanswered scores extended the Eagle lead to 12-6 at the end of the frame.

The first goal of the fourth came from the stick of Leah Coletti who finished a pass from Kaitlyn Henry for her first goal of the season. A free position shot led to the Trojans’ seventh goal of the day but that was the last goal the Eagles would allow as they scored four goals in the last eight minutes to seal their third win of the year.

The Eagles wrap up their four-game road swing on Saturday when they travel to Savannah for a neutral site game against Lander. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
