FSC: #7 Women’s Lacrosse Announces 2023 Slate

LAKELAND, Fla. – The seventh-ranked Florida Southern College Women’s Lacrosse team looks to defend its Sunshine State Conference title and NCAA postseason run from a year ago with a 17 game 2023 schedule. The Moccasins will kick off the season with a pair of road games before playing at Berend Field on Feb. 24 against No. 3 Adelphi.
 
The 2023 17-game schedule features 10 regular season home games to be played in Lakeland at Berend Field on campus with seven road contests in Florida, North Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee.
 
The 2022 Sunshine State Conference tournament champions open the year in North Carolina with the season-opener against the University of Mount Olive on Feb. 17 at 4 p.m. Two days later, the Mocs take on Wingate University at 12 p.m. (Feb. 19) before traveling back to Lakeland to open the year against No. 3 Adelphi with a 6 p.m. draw at Berend Field.
 
Following the home-opener, Florida Southern hits the road for a pair of games on March 4 and 5 against Lee University (2 p.m.) in Cleveland, Tenn. and at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (12 p.m.), respectively.
 
Starting on March 9, the Mocs will host six straight games at Berend Field capped by the SSC opener against Lynn on April 1 (1 p.m.). First to visit Lakeland will be Notre Dame College on March 9 (11 a.m.), before the Mocs take on Pace University (March 12, 1 p.m.), Mercy University (March 16, 7 p.m.), Bentley University (March 18, 11 a.m.), and Colorado Mesa University (March 25, 12 p.m.).
 
After opening the conference slate with the Fighting Knights on April 1, the Mocs close the second half of the regular season against SSC foes with road trips to the University of Tampa, the defending SSC Regular Season Champions, (April 5, 4:30 p.m.), Saint Leo University (April 12, 7 p.m.), and at Florida Tech (April 19, 7 p.m.) while hosting Rollins (April 8, 1 p.m.), Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (April 15, 1 p.m.), and Palm Beach Atlantic University (April 22, 1 p.m.) to close out the regular season.
 
Following the conclusion of the regular season, Florida Southern and the other seven SSC teams will look to the Sunshine State Conference tournament slated for April 27 for the semifinal round followed by the championship on April 30 (all played at the higher seed).
