Gators Hit the Road for Top-10 Matchup with Maryland

The seventh-ranked Gators look to bounce back against No. 5 Maryland in College Park, Md. on Saturday.  

Game Notes

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The seventh-ranked Florida lacrosse team continues its challenging nonconference slate on Saturday, traveling to College Park, Md. to take on the No. 5 Maryland Terrapins.

Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex.

No. 7 Florida at No. 5 Maryland Live Stream

This is the seventh meeting between the Gators and the Terrapins, with Maryland leading the all-time series 5-1. Florida won the last matchup between the teams though, defeating the No. 1 Terrapins 15-14 in College Park to snap Maryland’s 86-game home winning streak.

Florida is coming off a hard-fought loss to No. 2 North Carolina (15-11), while Maryland won its last contest against then-No. 11 Virginia (17-13).   

Scouting the Terrapins

  • Maryland sits fifth in the ILWomen/IWLCA poll after starting the season 2-0 with wins over No. 11 Virginia and Saint Joseph’s
  • The Tar Heels have four players on the Tewaaraton Watch List: Abby Bosco, Aurora Cordingley, Grace Griffin, Hannah Leubecker. Those four were also named as Inside Lacrosse Division I Preseason All-Americans
  • Through the first two games, Aurora Cordingley (9g, 2a), Libby May (7g) and Hannah Leubecker (5g, 1a) are leading the way offensively
  • Abby Bosco and Shaylan Ahearn are leading the way in the draw circle for Maryland, posting 17 and 16 draws, respectively
  • Emily Sterling and Emily Lamparter are splitting time in the cage for the Terps, with Sterling recording five saves with a .294 save percentage in 60 minutes of play. Lamparter has allowed only five goals with six saves for a .545 save percentage in 46:35 between the pipes
