GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida lacrosse players Danielle Pavinelli and Kaitlyn Davies were named AAC Players of the Week, announced by the conference Monday afternoon. Florida had an impressive 2-0 record this week with wins over Jacksonville and Arizona State, outscoring them by a combined 43-10.

Pavinelli earns her sixth career Attacker of the Week accolade. The senior had eight goals and five assists this week on a .727 shooting percentage, including back-to-back four goal games. In the process of this, Pavinelli moved into sixth all-time in goals (161) and seventh all-time in points (220). The Northport, N.Y. native now has 11 goals, five assists and three ground balls on the season.

Davies takes home her first career Player of the Week award, earning Defensive Player of the Week. The Midfielder played a huge part in Florida only giving up 10 goals over the last two games. The sophomore had a draw control and a ground ball this week, while holding her matchup (who was coming off of four straight hat-tricks) to zero goals during her time in the game against Arizona State. She also helped get the ball up field on clears, leading to Florida going 34-35 on clear attempts this week. Davies now has three groundballs, a caused turnover and four draw controls on the year.

UF now has had four total players earn player of the week awards, as Pavinelli and Davies join Paisley Eagan (Midfielder of the Week) and Georgia Hoey (Goalkeeper of the Week) on the list of Gators.

Florida will be back in action on Wednesday, taking on UC Davis in San Diego at 1 p.m. PST and 4 p.m. EST.
