Dolphins Dominate in 20-5 Win Over Lindenwood

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville University men’s lacrosse team clinched a spot in the Atlantic Sun (ASUN) conference tournament after a dominant 20-5 win at home over Lindenwood.

The Numbers
Nicky Brown and Jacob Greiner led the team in goals and points, each scoring five goals and earning two assists. Brown and Greiner continued to form a dynamic attack with the help of Jackson Intrieri, who led the team in assists with three. Ethan LaMond scored twice alongside Jack Taylor who finished third on the team in scoring with three goals.

Ryan Della Rocco finished with 12 saves and just five goals allowed in 50 minutes of action. Tucker Denault highlighted the defensive effort on the day, earning four ground balls with two caused turnovers. Nathan Kapp finished 19-26 on faceoffs, helping earn possessions for a high-powered attack.

How It Happened
Dolphins were the aggressors from the opening whistle, scoring the first 10 goals of the game, opening up the first quarter with six.

Brown led the charge in the first, scoring twice with two assists in the first quarter, giving the Dolphins a well-cushioned lead early in the game. Jack Taylor scored twice in the quarter, adding in one assist of his own in the opening 15 minutes.

In the second, Lindenwood showed some life, scoring three of five total goals in the second quarter after a pair of Greiner goals and one Nicky Brown goal pushed the lead to 10-0.

A consistent offensive effort continued in the third quarter, as JU continued to push for more following a 12-3 halftime lead. The Lions would add the final two Lindenwood goals of the day in the third, but another six-goal effort for Jacksonville would put the game out of reach.

A 2-0 final quarter for the Dolphins would wrap things up as JU would take the 20-5 victory, scoring 20+ for the second straight game and third overall.

Next Up
A battle at the top of the ASUN standings awaits, as the Dolphins will head to Colorado to face Air Force on Saturday (April 20). Air Force is 6-0 in conference play this season, one game ahead of JU in the standings.
