JU Men’s Lacrosse Names 2025 Season Captains
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville University men’s lacrosse program has announced the captains for the 2025 season. Tucker Denault and Jack Taylor will serve as the team captains throughout the offseason and in the 2025 season as the Dolphins look for a return to the ASUN Championship game.
Denault and Taylor helped Jacksonville to 13 wins on the season and a deep run in the ASUN Conference tournament. The pair replaces a trio of graduating Dolphins: Jacob Greiner, Tucker Garrity, and Seth Hogue. Greiner was a three-time captain, and Garrity and Hogue earned captain honors in their final season in Jacksonville.
Taylor is an upcoming junior midfielder out of Westborough, Mass., who finished the season with 40 points, 22 goals, and 18 assists. In the late stages of the regular season, Taylor helped JU come into form offensively, establishing one of the top offensive units in the country and finishing fourth in points on the team. Taylor was an elite prospect before coming to Jacksonville, earning Under Armour New England All-American honors while being named All-ISL League First Team selection and Boston Lacrosse All-American.
“I am truly honored and grateful for the opportunity to be named captain for the Dolphins,” expressed Taylor. “It’s a privilege to follow the great leaders who came before me on this team. I’m excited to take on the responsibility and ready to lead by example.”
Denault joined the Dolphins as a freshman in 2021, coming out of Archbishop Spalding in Millersville, Md., where he was a two-time team captain. The midfielder finished with a career-high in ground balls this season, picking up 23. “I am grateful and honored to lead as captain of Jacksonville men’s lacrosse. Thank you to my teammates and coaches for their trust and support,” said Denault. “I am proud to lead the team to more success in the 2024-2025 season!”
Head Coach John Galloway
“While teams have an expiration date, organizations operate 365 days. Our organization has already begun the journey back to establishing ourselves in 2025. For any organization, you need leaders. I didn’t want this team to go a day without a captain at the wheel. I slept a lot better the last week, knowing those captains would be Tucker Denault and Jack Taylor.
Both men have embraced our culture in their time here, and want more for it. They will lead with humility, action and an iron fist when needed. We are in good hands, and I look forward to watching them develop into the leaders this group needs.”
