via JU press release

BOX SCORE

JACKSONVILLE, FL – Jacksonville Women’s Lacrosse cruised to their second straight 10+ goal victory on Friday night when they defeated the Furman Paladins by a score of 22-4 under the lights of Rock Stadium.

Following a theme of the season the Dolphins came out fast, jumping out to a 4-0 lead just over four minutes into the game, and after allowing just two Furman goals in the first quarter JU would carry an 8-2 lead into the second.

Furman would then get on the board to start the second quarter, but it would be JU who would take the game over going on back-to-back scoring runs of eight and six goals to close out a commanding 18 goal victory.

The scoring was evenly distributed amongst the whole Dolphin team as seven players had multi-point performances, with none other than leading scorer Sarah Elms notching a team high five points (4G-1A).

The Defense also got in on the scoring fun as Freshman Kaila Stasulli claimed the first goal of her young Dolphin career. Joining her with the first goal of her JU career was Freshman Midfielder Alex Kulinski.

As a defensive unit the Dolphins were outstanding, causing 11 of the 22 turnovers committed by Furman, while also holding the Paladins to only one goal in the entire second half.

Also on the defensive side, both Goalkeepers saw action in the game with Paige Pagano claiming the win in her first ever start for JU making four saves on seven shots on goal. Addy Tysdal would add an additional four saves in the second half helping secure the victory for the Dolphins.
