Keiser’s Christian Tomei Honored as AAC Defensive Player of the Year

After an outstanding freshman season, Christian Tomei has been named the 2023 AAC Defensive Player of the Year.

The Jupiter, Florida, native recorded a program record 151 saves for KU.
Leads the AAC in save percentage (67.4)
His save percentage this season is currently the best in program history.
School record for wins in a season (13)
Played in all 14 games, and spent 721 minutes in goal.
Allowed the fewest goals (73) among all qualified goalkeepers in the AAC.
Tomei also added 35 groundballs, caused six turnovers, and an assist.
Logged 10 games with 10+ saves.
Tomei is the first athlete in KU history to be named AAC Defensive Player of the Year.
On the year, Tomei has a program record 13 wins.

Keiser will play in the AAC championship round tomorrow afternoon versus No. 6 Cumberlands (Ky). Opening faceoff is set for 3:00 p.m.
