“Life”-less Webber Women Fall Behind Early and Can’t Catch Running Eagles in17-3 Loss

Warriors Fall to #5 Running Eagles

Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Women’s Lacrosse team hosted the #5 Life Running Eagles on the Warrior Turf Field. The Running Eagles were too much for the Warriors as Webber fell 17-3. 

Life scored the first goal of the game, making it 1-0 two minutes into the game. Maria Horrell was able to tie it up 30 seconds later on a free-poisition goal. Life would score six unanswered points to head into the second quarter up 7-1. 

There was not much action in the second quarter, however both Jordyn Davidson and Hannah Register made saves for the Warriors. The Running Eagles were able to get four goals in the second, making it 11-1 heading into halftime. 

Life got the first goal of the third, before Bryce Gerber scored, making it 12-2. Life would get two more goals to hold a 14-2 lead into the fourth. 

The Running Eagles had the first goal of the fourth. Cheyenne Burton would make a run down the field after a turnover caused by Courtnie Couch to score the Warriors final goal of the game. Life would get two more goals and the final score was 17-3 Life. 

Horrell, Gerber, and Burton each had one point for the Warriors. Asiah Dewberry led the team with six ground balls, she also had four caused turnovers. Alia Loydd had four ground balls and five caused turnovers. In the goal, Davidson had 10 saves while Register had three. 

The Warriors will be back in action on Thursday, March 28th when they travel to Miami Gardens, Florida to take on the St. Thomas Bobcats.
