Lynn Men Roll to Second Win

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University men’s lacrosse team jumped out a 5-0 lead and never looked back en route to a 15-7 win over Farmingdale State, Sunday afternoon. The win evens the Fighting Knights record at 2-2 following their second home victory of the weekend.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
– The Fighting Knights outscored the visiting Rams in every quarter
– Lynn led 8-2 at halftime after racing out of the gate for a 5-1 cushion after the first frame
– The Fighting Knights outscored the visitors 7-5 over the final two quarters
– Lynn held a 47-40 edge in shots, won 14-of-26 faceoffs and was 17-of-19 on clears
– Graduate student Stephen Baker scored off an assist from sophomore Dylan Colon just eight seconds into the first quarter to set the tone for the remainder of the afternoon for the hosts
– Colon finished with three assists in the opening quarter and Becker scored the fifth goal for Lynn just 6:46 into action
– Becker returned the favor with 8:36 showing in the second as he assisted Colon for a 6-2 advantage
– Senior Jalen Stanton scored with 1:18 left in the opening half to set the score at 8-2 after 30 minutes of play
– The Colon to Becker combination capped a 3-0 scoring run for Lynn with 7:53 showing in the third for an 11-3 lead
– Freshman Jackson Cutter and freshman Ryan Olexa scored the final two goals of the game for the Fighting Knights
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
– Colon led all players with five points behind his four assists and one goal
– Becker added three goals, one assist and three ground balls
– Graduate student Reese Walker scored once and handed out two assists
– Graduate student Michael Miocic was 8-of-14 on faceoffs, while sophomore Camren Santos was 6-of-12
– Junior Eric Suits picked up the win in net stopping 13 shots and allowing just six goals
