Lynn Women Drop Home Opener to #9 Regis

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Four different players scored two goals for the 15th-ranked Lynn University women’s lacrosse team in a 15-11 home opening loss to No. 9 Regis, Saturday evening. The loss is the first of the season as Lynn settles at 2-1.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
– The Rangers scored four goals in each of the first three quarters to outpace the Fighting Knights 12-8 as the game headed for the fourth
– Lynn couldn’t get any closer as both teams scored three in the fourth quarter to set the final at 15-11
– Regis outshot Lynn 27-19. Lynn finished the evening a perfect 15-of-15 on clear attempts
– Sophomore Kristyn Johnson, freshman Elizabeth Clagett and junior Sydney Hill each scored in the first quarter for Lynn
– Regis opened the second quarter with two goals for a 6-3 edge before senior Isabella Clark, freshman Becca Clark and senior Danielle Farinas scored three of the game’s next four goals to narrow the deficit to one, 7-6
– Regis scored the final goal of the first half and the first four of the third for a 12-6 edge
– The Fighting Knights collected a 5-1 scoring run to pull to within two at 13-11 with 6:27 to play in the final quarter
– The Rangers sealed the win with two scores inside the final three minutes
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
– Farinas paced the Fighting Knights in scoring with two goals and three assists
– Clagett finished with two goals and one assist to go along with seven draw controls
– Hill and Becca Clark each scored twice
– Freshman Callista Elica scooped up six ground balls, while making eight saves
