
Lynn Women: Fighting Knights dominate the second half defeating Stonehill 21-16

Boca Raton, Florida – The Fighting Knights came out on fire in the third quarter with eight-goals to pull away from Stonehill, en route to a 21-16 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights struck first with a goal from Krystn Johnson in the first three minutes of the contest.
- Stonehill would come back a few minutes later with two quick goals of their own to take a 2-1 lead, but Lynn would not stay quiet. A free position goal from Bayley Tracy tied the game, then Johnson scored to give Lynn a 3-2 lead.
- Lynn used two late goals from Sydney Hill to take a 5-3 lead heading into the second quarter.
- The second period was controlled by Stonehill. They would take a 9-8 lead at halftime.
- Hill would lead the way with three goals in the first half, followed by Mallory Jarka and Johnson with two each.
- The Fighting Knights would come out of halftime inspired in the third quarter. Lynn would outscore Stonehill 8-1 in the quarter, and take a 16-10 lead going into the fourth.
- The third quarter was a total team effort with seven different players having at least one goal. Isabella Clark would be the catalyst in the third with two goals.
- Stonehill tried to fight back with three straight goals to start the fourth quarter. An immediate timeout by the Fighting Knights followed.
- Out of the timeout Lynn would strike back with three straight goals of their own. The Fighting Knights would get two goals late from Danielle Farinas to seal a 21-16 victory.
- Jarka would lead the team with five goals in the game, while also dishing out two assists, and scooping up a team-high four groundballs.
- Hill was lurking with four goals of her own, followed by Clark, Farinas, and Johnson with three each.
- Clark and Farinas would combine for seven of the team’s twelve goals, along with a combined seven groundballs.
- The Fighting Knights would win the draw control battle 23-18 over Stonehill, while also winning the assist battle 12-6.

The Fighting Knights will be busy this week, playing three more home games between now and Friday. The Fighting Knights will take on Lander University on Wednesday, Mar. 7 at 4 p.m.
