Lynn Women Post Record-setting Win Over Bridgeport

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University women’s lacrosse team set two school records in an impressive 23-4 victory over Bridgeport, Thursday afternoon. The win is the second straight for the Fighting Knights and pushes their overall record to 4-1.
– Lynn dominated the game statistically and set a school record for points in game with 41, breaking the previous record of 35 points set in 2020
– The Fighting Knights also set the school record with 18 assists as the previous mark was 14 set last spring
– The Fighting Knights had 14 assists in the first half alone on Thursday against Bridgeport
– Lynn’s 23 goals are second all-time in program history coming up one goal shy of tying the record of 24 set last spring
– Lynn outshot Bridgeport 37-8, finished 15-of-16 on clears and caused eight of the Purple Knights 22 turnovers
– Eleven different players registered a point for the Fighting Knights
– Bridgeport scored the game’s first goal, but it was all Lynn after that
– The Fighting Knights scored 21 of the game’s next 22 goals to lead 21-2 late in the third
– The Purple Knights scored twice to open the fourth quarter
– Freshman Becca Clark and sophomore Kristyn Johnson scored goals inside the final five minutes to seal the win
– The Fighting Knights outscored Bridgeport 11-2 in the first quarter, 10-0 in the second and third quarters combined and both teams scored twice in the fourth
– Johnson scored the first two goals of the game for Lynn and had a hat trick just over nine minutes into action
– Johnson finished with nine points behind seven goals and both are good for second in a single-game in program history. She also added two assists
– Senior Isabella Clark scored twice with five assists
– Junior Diane Dohler (one four/four assists) and junior Lauren Dickson (two goals/three assists) each finished with five points
– Becca Clark scored four times
– Freshman Callista Elica needed just one save for her fourth win of the season
– Lynn hosts Lee (Tenn.) next Wednesday at 11:00 am and Ashland later on that day at 4:00 pm
