HOW IT HAPPENED:

Young Harris answered seconds later, but from that point on, it was all Fighting Knights.
  • In the first period, Clark and Farinas each scored two goals, while Mallory Jarka and Kristyn Johnson each scored three.
  • The Fighting Knights gave up the first goal of the second quarter, but then rattled off four straight, including three in a row by Farinas to take a 14-2 lead into the half. The game never got within 10 again, as the Fighting Knights ran away with the 22-5 victory.
  • Farinas led the way with five goals. She also recorded a team-high three assists and three ground balls, second only to Johnson who had four.
  • Johnson finished with four goals of her own. She was followed by Clark, Jarka and Hill who each recorded hat tricks. Clark and Hill also finished with two assists.

  • Mackinsey Hamer joined Johnson and Farinas with multiple ground balls.
  • Ciara Moorman faced just two shots in her Lynn debut, then was replaced by Carolyn Stein for the second half. Stein would end with four saves on seven shots.
  • Lynn recorded 17 ground balls compared to just four for Young Harris. They also dominated in shots, recorded 35 to just 13 for the Mountain Lions.
  • The defense also hounded the Mountain Lions, forcing 10 turnovers, and only allowing them to go 4-9 on clearances.
