Warrior Defensive Player of the Week: Chesapeake’s Niko AmatoANAPOLIS, Md (July 20, 2017) and ATLANTA, Ga (July 22, 2017) — Chesapeake Bayhawks goalie Niko Amato was named the Warrior Defensive Player of the Week for Week 13. Amato helped the Bayhawks pull of two wins in both Thursday and Saturday’s games.Amato, 26, had 9 saves on 19 shots on goals in the Thursday win against Florida. Amato held the Launch attackman to just 10 goals.Amato then helped clinch the 13-12 win against Atlanta on Saturday evening. Amato had a save percentage of .612. This is the highest save percentage Amato has amassed when playing the entire game. Amato had a .666 save percentage in his first game this season against Boston while playing for half the game.Amato is the first Bayhawks player to earn Defensive Player of the Week honors this season.
