Saint Leo Lions Take Care of Business Versus The Falcons to Improve to 6-0

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The #20 Saint Leo women’s lacrosse team continues impressive start to season with a 11-7 win over Montevallo
The Lions now move to 6-0 after a tough fought game against the Griffins.
In the first quarter, the Lions showed their offensive power early with Senior Ashlee Wilsynski adding another goal to her tally this season and starting a dominant run for the Green & Gold.
She was quickly followed up by Senior Lia Lamendola who scored from a free position attempt.
The first quarter ended with the Lions defense and offense firing on all cylinders as they headed into the second with a 5-0 lead.
Montevallo was the first to score in the second, but Sophomore Emma Hayhurst answered back just about a minute later to stop any momentum the Falcons had gained.
Saint Leo continued to score with Junior Fiona McLaughlin adding on to the Lion offense.
The Lions went into halftime with a 9-3 lead.
Montevallo fought back in the third with strong defense, but the Lions own defense kept a strong multiple goal lead.
The fourth quarter was a defense show for both sides which allowed the Lions to comfortably close out the game and finish on top 11-7.
Graduate Kealey Allison led the team in scoring with three goals.
Close behind was Freshman Sophia Wood with two goals and also two assists.
Freshman keeper Jessica Harclerode continued her impressive season with 13 saves while adding another win to her record.
Up next, the Lions go back home to University Turf Stadium as Bentley University travels south for a March 16th matchup. The Draw is scheduled for 6:00pm.
