SAINT LEO, Fla. – The USA Lacrosse Magazine released its’ 2022 Division II Women’s Lacrosse Preseason All-American honors on December 13, 2021. Ashlee Wilsynski of the Saint Leo women’s lacrosse program was named among the 39 student-athletes awarded the distinguished title. The junior attacker from Baltimore, Md. was honored among the third-team recipients.

Head Coach Caitlin Hansen commented on the preseason nod, “It was exciting for our program to have players receive national recognition at the conclusion of last season, so it is equally as exciting to keep the momentum heading into the 2022 season. Ashlee has been a strong player for us from the start and deserves this preseason nod. I hope it will inspire our younger players to dream big and for our returners to keep in motion what we have been building these last few seasons.”

Wilsynski will enter her junior campaign in the spring of 2022. Last year, she was named a Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-American Third Team member following her IWLCA All-Region First Team selection, and she was given the elite title of Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Freshman of the Year and All-SSC First Team. The accolades reflected a 10 game season in which she started in every game. Wilsynski led the team in points with 47 (33 goals and 14 assists) and compiled a .735 shot on goal percentage.

During her first season in the Green and Gold, she tallied 27 points as the team’s leading scoring with 21 goals and six assists before the COVID-19 pandemic cut the season short.

Wilsynski is joined by four Sunshine State Conference members in Hailey Daleo (Florida Southern), CeCe Colombo (Tampa), Bridget Calwy (Rollins), and Liz Fahey (Rollins).
