St. Thomas Alum Kevin Crowley Named Preseason D3 All American by USILA

Cards Receiving Votes, Crowley Preseason All-American

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Catholic University men’s lacrosse team was receiving votes in the USILA Division III Coaches Preseason Poll released on Monday.

In addition, senior Kevin Crowley was selected to the USILA Division III Preseason All-America Third Team.

The Cardinals were mentioned in the USILA poll for the fourth time overall and the second-straight season after receiving votes in the final two polls a year ago on May 3 and May 10. They were also receiving votes during the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

Catholic concluded its first season under head coach Jon Sax in 2021 with its third Landmark Conference championship and third appearance in the NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Championship.

Meanwhile, Crowley was selected as a USILA Third Team All-American and Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Year.

The Cardinals open their 2022 season on Saturday, Feb. 12 when they travel to Washington and Lee for the first-ever meeting between the two teams. The Generals, who were also receving votes, were one of five Catholic opponents mentioned in the USILA preseason poll, including No. 2 Salisbury, No. 5 Christopher Newport, No. 12 Colorado College and Hampden-Sydney (RV).
