Strong Offensive Performance Leads Hatters Past Hawks 23-6

Hartford, Conn. – Stetson traveled to Hartford for a Sunday afternoon matchup where they claimed a 23-6 victory with a dominating performance both offensively and defensively.

Stetson dominated the first quarter scoring nine goals and the defense turned over the Hawks six times. Jessica Duggan would get the scoring started for the Hatters at the 11:47 mark. Aine Williams would get the second goal at the 10:54 mark. Duggan would get another as Samantha Paglino picked up the assist. Camden Frissora would get in on the action at the 7:58 mark with her first goal of the afternoon, Kaitlin Pani would follow up with her first goal at the 5:39 mark. Paglino would score her first, adding to the Hatters total of six.

Frissora would score her second goal of the quarter at the 3:57 mark. Katie Kornacki would add another making the score eight to zero in favor of Stetson. The Hawks would finally get on the scoreboard and Jordyn Humphrey would get the final goal of the quarter making the score 9-1 Stetson at the end of one.

Stetson would continue the offensive dominance by adding six goals in the second quarter. Hartford would score two goals before Jessica Duggan would get her hat-trick at the 6:05 mark. Kornacki would get another goal for the Hatters, followed up by Williams’ second goal of the afternoon at the 3:49 mark. Georgia Goering would score her first of the afternoon at the 2:56 mark. Aine Williams would get her hat-trick and Duggan would get her fourth goal as the Hatters headed into halftime with a 15-4 lead over the Hawks.

In the third quarter, Pani would continue the offensive explosion with a goal at the 13:53 mark. Paglino would add two more to be the third Hatter with a hat-trick on the day. Stetson continued the strong defensive play as they would only allow one goal in the quarter. Kayleigh Flanegan and Sam King would get their firsts of the contests to close out the quarter with the Hatters up 20-5 over the Hawks.

Aine Williams would open the fourth quarter with her fourth goal of the contest at the 12:42 mark. Humphrey would get another for the Hatters at the 9:28 mark. Heidi Cross would be the eleventh and final Hatter to score at the 3:25 mark of the fourth quarter. Once again for the second straight quarter the Hatters defense would hold the Hawks to just one goal making the final 23-6 with Stetson claiming the victory.  

Stetson will stay in Connecticut and face Central Connecticut State on Monday March 27th at 1:00 p.m.
