The Florida Launch of Major League Lacrosse announced today the selection of the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation as their official charity partner of July. The partnership will kick off with the Launch’s auction of their autographed game-worn jerseys after their final home game at FAU Stadium on July 22, with all proceeds benefiting the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation.
“It’s an honor to partner with such a great local organization. We’re excited about the great work they do and excited for the chance to get involved and give back to this community,” said Launch Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Michael Zeff.
Earlier this season, Florida Launch players, coaches, and front office staff had the opportunity to visit the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Dan Marino Outpatient Center in Weston. The visit marks the beginning of an ongoing effort to get involved in the South Florida community. “Anything we can do to give back to the kids…is definitely something we want to do,” said Launch defenseman Jason Crane.
The visit was warmly welcomed by both the team and the hospital. “It’s really important for the community to get involved so the kids see they’re really like every other typical developing child,” said Simone Sellier, PhD, CCC-SLP, Regional Director of Ambulatory Services, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
The partnership marks a continuation of the Launch’s mission to be a positive influence on the local community.
