Three Gators Earn Preseason All-America Nods

USA Lacrosse Magazine tabbed Emma LoPintoDanielle Pavinelli and Sarah Reznick to the Second Team.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – USA Lacrosse Magazine released its Division I Preseason All-Americans Tuesday afternoon and three Gators found themselves on the Second Team.

Emma LoPintoDanielle Pavinelli and Sarah Reznick each earned the nod after their performances in the 2022 season.

LoPinto is one of only two freshmen (true or redshirt) to earn a spot on the Second Team and is one of only seven sophomores to be tabbed to any of the four teams (First, Second, Third, Honorable Mention) this preseason.

This is the first Preseason All-American honor for Pavinelli, while Reznick was named as an ILWomen Preseason Second Team All-American a season ago.

At the end of the 2022 campaign, Pavinelli garnered IWLCA (Second Team) and ILWomen (Third Team) accolades, while LoPinto found herself on the IWLCA Third Team and ILWomen Honorable Mention lists after her freshman season.

This trio, along with the rest of the Gators, kick off the 2022 campaign against Michigan on Feb. 12 at 12 p.m. in the confines of Donald R. Dizney Stadium.

Emma LoPinto

  • 2023 USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Preseason All-America Second Team
  • 2022 IWLCA Third Team All-American
  • 2022 ILWomen Media All-American Honorable Mention
  • 2022 IWLCA All-Region First Team
  • 2022 AAC Freshman of the Year
  • 2022 All-AAC First Team
  • 2022 All-AAC Tournament Team
  • 2022 Tewaaraton Watch List 
  • 10-time AAC Freshman of the Week (program record & conference record)
  • Broke Florida’s freshman points record on May 5 vs. ECU – the previous record stood at 79 and has held since the first season of Florida lacrosse (Ashley Bruns – 2010)
  • Finished the season with a total of 97 points, putting her fourth in NCAA history for most points in a rookie campaign
  • Ranked second in the AAC in total points (97), fourth in both points per game (4.41) and assists per game (1.55) and fifth in goals per game (2.86)

Danielle Pavinelli

  • 2023 USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Preseason All-America Second Team
  • 2022 IWLCA Second Team All-American
  • 2022 ILWomen Media All-American Third Team 
  • 2022 IWLCA All-Region First Team
  • 2022 AAC Attacker of the Year
  • 2022 All-AAC First Team
  • 2022 AAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player
  • 2022 All-AAC Tournament Team
  • 2022 Tewaaraton Top-25 Nominee  
  • Five-time AAC Attacker of the Week in 2022
  • Five-time AAC Honor Roll selection in 2022
  • Led the AAC in total points with 99, sits third in both points per game (4.50) and goals per game (3.32) and is eighth in assists per game (1.18)
  • Ranked eighth in the nation in total goals (73) and 14th in free position percentage (.630)
  • Became Florida’s 19th 100-point scorer earlier this season 

Sarah Reznick

  • 2022 IWLCA All-Region Second Team
  • 2022 AAC Goalkeeper of the Year
  • 2022 All-AAC First Team
  • 2022 All-AAC Tournament Team

  • 2022 IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week (3/22)
  • Three-time AAC Defender of the Week in 2022
  • One AAC Honor Roll Selection in 2022
  • Has recorded a save in 51-straight games, the second-longest streak in program history
  • Ranked first in the conference in both save percentage (.480) and goals against average (9.48) and is third in saves per game (7.64)
  • In the nation, Reznick finished 10th in goals against average and 17th in save percentage
  • Among active Division I players, she ranks sixth with a career 8.51 GAA
