JIM JACOBS

South Florida Accomplishments: Jim has been involved with the game of lacrosse for the last 50 years…as a Player, Coach, Rec League/Travel League Board Member, and most recently, as a Referee. Coach- Jim was one of the original JTAA Lacrosse coaches when the program began in the Spring of 2001. He coached JTAA Lacrosse for 9 years, with the objective of teaching the fundamentals of the game and spreading his love for the game. Jim, along with Billy Allen, coached the area’s first middle school travel team, the Jupiter Riptide in 2007 and 2008. The Jupiter Riptide later merged with the Palm Beach Storm lacrosse program, and Jim coached there from 2009 to 2013, when his son graduated high school.  Rec League/Travel League Board Member– Jim was a founding member of the JTAA Lacrosse program, and served as a Board Member from its inception in 2000 until his retirement in 2013. 

The program began with 3 boys teams in the spring of 2001 and by 2013 had over 300 boys and girls playing. In addition to serving as a Board Member, Jim was also the Vice President/ Director of the Boys Program from 2002 to 2008, and Treasurer from 2005 to 2013. In 2007, Jim founded the area’s first middle school travel team, the Jupiter Riptide, so middle school players could further develop their lacrosse skills by playing competitively throughout Florida. Jupiter Riptide played two seasons and then merged with the Palm Beach Storm Travel Team in 2009 so the players could continue playing at the high school level. Jim served as a Board member for the Palm Beach Storm from 2009 through 2013.  Referee– Jim joined the South Florida Lacrosse Officials Association in 2010 and is a Level 1 official. His lacrosse career now involves officiating middle school, high school, youth league games and tournaments throughout South Florida and upstate NY. Jim also serves as the lead official for the Showtime Lacrosse recruiting showcase held annually in New Jersey.

Additional Lacrosse Accomplishments:  Player– Jim discovered lacrosse at the age of 12 and immediately began playing. He was a Goalie for his Auburn middle school and high school teams in upstate NY; for his SUNY Cobbleskill junior college team, which were 3 rd in the country in 1981 and Jim was named to the first-team all-tournament team and HM all-american; and for his University of Baltimore team, where he and his top 10 ranked 1982 team were inducted into the University of Baltimore’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011.  

Additional Accomplishments:  Jim is happily married to his wife of 34 years, Daisy, lives in Palm Beach Gardens and they have a son, Robert, who was an attackman for the Benjamin School and Kenyon College. Jim was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2009 and 2010 for his work with children.

BRIDGETTE LASKEY

South Florida Accomplishments:  Head Coach Miami Palmetto Senior High School, 3 seasons 27-7 record (2000-2002); Head Coach Ransom Everglades, 5 seasons 55-21 record (2014-2018) Won 4 District Championships & 3 Regional Championships; Head Coach Miami Makos (2000-2002); Head Coach Miami Thunder (2013-present);  Started the 1st girls club team in Dade County that eventually developed into the 1st girls’ team at Miami Palmetto Senior High School in 1999, founded and developed Ransom Everglades School’s first girls’ program (14-18, returning as program coordinator for 2023). Established and/or created the following teams by providing introduction clinics, hosting parent meetings, working with school administrators, or developing their team through Miami Thunder, and eventually providing them with coaches to run the teams: Gulliver Preparatory School (2015), Our Lady of Lourdes Academy (2019) and Westminster Christian School (2020).

Provided trips and chaperoned MS/HS players to various college camps each summer and to Canada representing South Florida (2014-2017). Set up opportunities with Dade County players to work with Gary Gait, Taylor Cummings, and Lindenwood University’s team on Ransom Everglades campus (2015-2018). Involved with USA Lacrosse’s DEI initiatives with Gangs, Inc (2019- present) and Breakthrough Miami (2016-present). Her club players and Ransom players help coach with Breakthrough Miami. Board member USA Lacrosse South Florida Chapter (2014-2016, 2022); Miami Dade Coach of the Year (2015-2018) Honored to be the South Florida Chapter National Tournament Chair in 2019 and helped transition the current chair.  

RICHARD (MOON) MULLEN

South Florida Accomplishments:  Rich began his coaching at Saint Andrew’s School in 1994 where he continues today as an assistant coach for Tony Seaman. Over the years SAS has won multiple state championships including back to back championships in 2021 and 2022. He has been an inspiration to this game in the State of Florida at all levels from youth lacrosse with Delray Riptide, various travel programs, high school teams, and men’s club lacrosse. His knowledge and passion for the game of lacrosse is noted by all who contribute to this game.

Additional Lacrosse Accomplishments:  Rich played at Rye Neck High School in Mamaroneck, NY and college at C.W. Post in Greenvale, NY. (1985 BS/87 MBA Business) He served as lacrosse captain and was awarded the Vincent Salamone Award MVP. His playing career continued with Long Island Lacrosse Club (1986-1993) in Hofstra, NY (7 x Club Lacrosse Champions). He was a Club All Star in 1986, 87 and 89. Rich also played pro lacrosse for the NY/NJ Saints for 5 seasons in the Major Indoor Lacrosse League, winning the championship in 1989. Rich earned a tryout for Team USA in 1986 and 1990. He played for Palm Beach Lacrosse Club from 1994-2009 winning 9 consecutive state titles. Rich resides in Delray Beach with his wife Lisa, daughter Taylor and son Tucker. Taylor was a 4x starter and ’22 graduate of University of Vermont and is currently a member of the University of Virginia women’s lacrosse team while pursuing her Masters. Tucker is a second year student and member of the University of Virginia men’s lacrosse team.

ROBERT (BOB) ROSE

South Florida Accomplishments:  Bob has served in multiple capacities in the South Florida lacrosse community for over 25 years. He started in leadership with the Weston Warriors youth program in 1996 during the reorganization, coached middle school and high school for over a decade. During this time he was a part of the City League Staff and Head Coach until 2004 as well as Head Coach at South Plantation Boys and Girls programs from 2006-2019. He served as boy’s assistant coach at other schools such as American Heritage Delray (start up year), Flanagan High School, Ft. Lauderdale, and McNicol Middle School. Family members have played in programs founded through the D-1 level including East Coast Reds and BC Blues, the original Urban Lacrosse Alliance and Diversity & Inclusion programs in Broward. Bob was instrumental with Donna Rose in getting lacrosse sanctioned in public schools in Broward County.

He started the flagship club team at South Plantation in the public schools which led to acceptance of lacrosse by Broward County Athletic Association. Bob has continued to support voluntarily since the passing of Donna Rose to support public school programs in general including Pompano Beach, Ft. Lauderdale and South Plantation. Five years ago he founded the Blue Roses Foundation that has supported college readiness of non-traditional players providing shared cost campus visits and recruitment tours. First generation of college graduates from BC Blues and East Coast Red Travel have returned to support and even make up the Blue Rose Foundation which is the legacy started as his partner. He is an Urban Lacrosse Alliance Program Leader and has served as a member of the South Florida Chapter USA Lacrosse board from approx. 2013-2016 and served one term as the President.

Bob was awarded South Florida Chapter USA Lacrosse Man of the Year in 2011. After retiring in 2020 as a teacher and head coach at South Plantation, he has volunteered at both Ft. Lauderdale and Pompano Beach High School as an assistant to the head coaches that were players for him at South Plantation High School during their club and inaugural seasons back in 2012. He currently coaches at Saint Thomas University in their start up year.

Additional Accomplishments:  Bob is an Ex-Naval Officer, First Lieutenant. He earned Teacher of Year in 2017. He was also a member of the Fencing Team at University of Maryland.
