UT Women’s Lacrosse Slated for Top 5 Matchup in Home Opener

TAMPA, Fla. – UT women’s lacrosse is set for its home opener against Adelphi in what will be a thrilling matchup.

The Matchup: No. 3 University of Tampa (2-0, 0-0 SSC) vs. No. 4 Adelphi (2-0, 0-0 NE10)

Date/Time: Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.

Location: Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex. 1120 West North A Street, Tampa, FL 33606

Series History: Tampa leads Adelphi in the overall series history 1-0 after the Spartans defeated the Panthers a season ago.

About the Spartans: Tampa returns to Naimoli for its home opener following a record-breaking 28-1 win over North Greenville. The Spartans currently lead the SSC with 27 goals averaged per game and have tallied 54 goals in just two games which also leads the SSC. Sarah Hinkle leads the SSC in goals per game (6), and shots per game (8.50). Senior goalkeeper, Alex Walling has allowed just four goals across the Spartan’s first two contests.

About the Panthers: The Panthers are coming off an impressive road win over Florida Southern, who were ranked No. 2 at the time. Both the Spartans and Panthers sit with an overall record of 2-0 heading into this top-5 matchup. The last time these two teams played, Tampa came out victorious.
