Warner Women’s Lacrosse – Warner Hires Frank Rogers as the Head Coach for Women’s Lacrosse

Note: Warner University in Lake Wales is starting a Women’s NAIA program for next year

LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner University is pleased to announce Frank Rogers as the Head Coach for the new program of Women’s Lacrosse. 

Athletic Director, Chrissy Moskovits said, “One of the most exciting moments is being a part of launching a new athletic program, and we at Warner are thrilled to launch Women’s Lacrosse. We will join six other schools in the SUN and it’s great to see growth at Warner and in our conference. I believe we have done an excellent job bringing Frank Rogers on board as our first Women’s Lacrosse head coach. He has great experience and connections.”

President, Dr. David Hoag said, “We are excited to add another sport for Women at Warner University. They will be playing on our new field which is being constructed this summer.”

Coach Rogers has been involved with lacrosse for more than 45 years, and has an extensive background in both the men’s and women’s game. He has been asked to share his knowledge by speaking at the USA Lacrosse Convention 19 times, the convention is the largest gathering of coaches and officials in the world attracting 8000 people a year.  

He joins Warner University after spending years as a Head Coach at the NCAA Division II and NAIA level. He has been credited with starting programs at the University of Montevallo (AL), Brevard College (NC) and Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI.

The last 3 years he was the Head Coach for both the Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse programs at NAIA St Ambrose University leading both teams to conference runner ups and national rankings, while taking the Men’s team to the NAIA National Tournament. 

Before joining Aquinas, Rogers spent nine years as a high school boys’ lacrosse coach in Michigan and New York and also coached the men’s and women’s club teams at Western Michigan University, he is also credited with starting 9 high school programs in Michigan and a Club program. 

Coach Rogers has worked camps for Notre Dame, Northwestern, Virginia, Louisville and Vanderbilt, while also running his own camps.
Through Student Athlete World, Rogers coached a group of men’s and women’s college players in the Berlin Open in June 2017 and coached the SaWUSA women’s team to a Gold Medal in the Lisbon Lacrosse Cup in Portugal and Spain in June 2019. 

He has had 17 programs earn All Academic Honors, while coaching numerous Conference Players of the Week, All Conference All Academic Players, All Americans, All Conference Players, Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year and the 2nd leading scorer in the NCAA DII.

Frank Rogers said, “We feel very blessed that the Lord has taken us down this path and provided us the opportunity to be part of such a special community. I’d like to thank our AD Chrissy Moskovits, VP Tohme and President Hoag for having the confidence in me to start this new chapter in Warner University Athletic history. We have a lot of work to do but as it says in 1 Peter 1:13–15 “Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.” We will follow his path and we will be given the hope to establish a great group of young ladies who will represent our program, department, school, community and the Lord at the highest level.”

Coach Rogers is a native of Central New York where he began his Lacrosse career, he has been married to his best friend, Kathy for 41 years and they have been blessed with 3 daughters (Chrissy, Connie and Kati) and 5 grandchildren.
