Webber Men’s Lacrosse Earns Three All-Conference Selections

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (April 27, 2022) – The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced its 2022 Men’s Lacrosse All-Conference Team and awards on Monday, and Chase Jackson has been named the Offensive Player of th Year.

Chase Jackson was named Offensive Player of the Year as well as being a First-Team All-Conference selection. He finished the year leading not only the Warriors, but the whole conference in both assists (50) and points (81). Jackson was also the second highest goal scorer for Webber with 31 goals scored. Jackson was last year’s AAC Freshman of the Year and the sophomore can now add Offensive Player of the Year to his accolades.

Junior defender Jordan Elam was selected to the All-Conference Second Team. Elam started all 16 games for the Warriors this past season as a long-stick defender, finishing second on the Warriors in ground balls with 32 and leading the team in caused turnovers with 15.

Blake Nelson was also named to the All-Conference Second Team. The sophomore midfielder from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ended the season third on the team in points (38) and second in assists (23), while scoring 15 goals on the year. Nelson played in all 16 games and was fourth on the Warriors in both shots (44) and shots on goal (30).

Senior defender Reynold Rey, nicknamed “The Godfather of Webber Men’s Lacrosse”, was selected as one of the four student-athletes named to the Champions of Character Team.

The Warriors end their second year as a program with an overall record of 11-6 (including postseason) and 3-4 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
