Martin County Youth Sports Alliance will be holding the 4th Annual Fall Martin County Shootout on November 2nd & 3rd in Stuart, FL, at Halpatioke Park.  The MCYSA will be hosting over a dozen southeast regional coaches for those kids wanting to get a look at some of these smaller schools, both inside and outside of Florida. The tournament will bring over 50 teams on five full fields with all age groups from U9-HS level and will include a girls division this season. Tournament organizer Phil Urso reports that last year they had several players get picked up by schools like Piedmont, Florida Tech, Haverford and others. This year they hope to bring even more coaches down to see our Florida talent.  He said, “While we have many players here in Florida striving to play DI ball, there are clearly opportunities with some of the smaller schools in the Southeast and what better platform to get these ‘diamonds in the rough’ than in a local Florida event?” Interested clubs can contact Phil Urso at phil_urso@yahoo.com with any questions or visit www.mcshootout.com.  They strive to keep costs down for our event at $850 per team, while maintaining two referees on every field and balls on end lines! This is an opportunity to compete against local competition as well as teams from all over the state.
