All Saints Tops Winderemere Prep 18-15

All Saints Academy traveled to Windermere Prep to take on the Lakers for a non-district game on Monday, March 14, 2016. The Saints prevailed with an 18-15 comeback win. The Saints took an early 3-1 lead in the first quarter with two back to back goals from Zach Wilson followed by a goal from Hunter Bennett. The Lakers scored a flurry of goals in the second quarter led by Grinnell and Hunter to take a 7-5 lead at the half. The Saints mounted a rally in the third quarter as the offense started to gel with a goal from Shaun Slachta followed by a goal from Tyson “Moose” Gurnsey to tie the game. The Lakers answered with a goal from Brand and Darron to retake a two goal lead. The Saints stormed back with four straight goals from Hunter Bennett to retake the lead at the end the third quarter. Hunter Bennett scored the first goal of the fourth followed by a goal from Stuart Skipper. The Lakers responded with a goal from Crayner that was followed by two goals from Moose Gurnsey and Hunter Bennett. Crayner came back with another goal that was promptly answered by Hunter Bennett. The Lakers kept pushing, and scored two straight goals from Darron and Crayner. The Saints scored two more goals from Hunter Bennett and Stuart Skipper to end the game with 18 goals. Saints scored five goals in the fourth from Stuart Skipper, and back to back goals each from Fisher Williams and Tyson “Moose Gurnsey to close out the game with 12-7 win. The Saints’ Hunter Bennett led all scorers with 9 goals each, Fisher Williams led all in assists with six. The Lakers leading scorer was Crayner with five goals and Strammel led the Lakers in assist with two. The Lakers of next game is a road game against Ocoee on Tuesday, March 15, 2016.
