Western HS (Davie) and American Heritage (Plantation) met 2/25/15 at American Heritage. This was an important game in FHSAA District 29. Last season Western beat AHS in overtime. Western HS came out strong. It took a while for AHS to get going but once they got going strong performances from midfielder Jarrett Alfero (2016) eventually led American Heritage to an 11-7 victory. Midfielder Matt Kirchmeier (2017) performed strongly winning a majority of the faceoffs. Alex Rodriguez (not sure what year) performed well for Western scoring a number of goals. Both goalies Joe Weisberg (2017-AHS) and Rob Rodriguez (2015-Western) had strong games and the score was close until the end of the game. American Heritage is 1-0 in the district and will take on district rival Plantation HS on Friday, Feb 27. Western is 0-2 in the district and will face West Boca school tonight (2/26) in Boca.
