Archbishop McCarthy Hosting Gerry Mayen Memorial Preseason Lacrosse Tournament This Weekend
Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in Uncategorized.
Archbishop McCarthy High School is celebrating the life of Gerry Mayen and raising money for the college fund of Gerry and Noemi’s sons, three year old Lucas and their baby boy, who is on the way! Gerry was the defensive and assistant head coach for McCarthy and passed away from a sudden illness last September. He loved his family dearly, the game of lacrosse and his McCarthy players.
Head Coach, Brent Hilsabeck put this event together with his players and their families and would like to thank Cypress Bay, Western, Palmetto, Miami Country Day and American Heritage for participating in the McCarthy tournament and their financial contributions. Local referees have graciously volunteered their time as well.
Games start on Friday, 2/6 at 4:30 PM and again on Saturday at 9:00 AM. Admission is $5 with all proceeds from the gate and concessions going to help Gerry and Noemi’s boys. Archbishop McCarthy High School is located at 5451 South Flamingo Road, Southwest Ranches, Florida.
