Above – Matt Mottern got the scoring going for BMC The first ever meeting between Jensen Beach and Bishop Moore took place on Saturday at Bishop Moore. The great weather made for a great lacrosse game as well. The first eight minutes made for a great defensive stand-off back and forth before the scoring opened with a goal by Matt Mottern (BM) assisted by Joey McKenna. Two more goals would be scored by Sam Shaw (JB) and Will Stricker (BM) to end the first quarter 2-1 Bishop Moore. Bishop Moore went on to extend the lead in the 2nd quarter to 5-1 while Jensen Beach battled back with 2 goals from Jared Welsh (JB) to bring the halftime score to 5-3. Bishop Moore maintained the lead throughout the game to eventually win 7-6. Both goalies also had good days in the net – Austin Brodie (JB) had 10 saves and Max Kucera (BM) had 13 saves. Bishop Moore is now 2-0 with their next game home against The First Academy and Jensen Beach is now 1-2 with their next game away at Pope John Paul.
