Bocklet Lacrosse Camps A Hit With Locals

Over the holiday season CB Lacrosse held two clinics in the South Florida area, running Dec. 26th – 28th in Delray Beach and Jan. 2nd – 5th at the Benjamin School. CB Lacrosse is run by the Bocklet family and is developed based on their experiences growing up and their accomplishments on the field. The Bocklet siblings have combined for a total of 3 National Championships, 5 All-America Awards and 4 MLL All-Star appearances. The four siblings are Chris, currently playing in the MLL for Denver after graduating from Virginia, brother Matt, currently the Assistant Head Coach at Dartmouth after playing at Johns Hopkins and in the MLL, sister Casey, who played at Northwestern before transferring to Virginia and oldest brother Mike, who played at Fairfield and coached at Dartmouth and Cortland State.
Not a bad base to build on.
The Clinics were built around more time spent on teaching and less time on games with a fun twist to the daily schedule thrown in. Chris Bocklet discussed with me the desire to design the camps/clinics around what he liked to do at the same age of the kids he works with. Besides the normal stick, shooting and passing drills the clinic incorporates some fun challenges, like trying to teach soft hands by utilizing water balloons as lacrosse balls or shooting at watermelons in the goal to try to crack one open. Getting better as a player, learn something new every day and have fun while doing it.
Helping out with the clinics were Mark Hoey of Blueprint Lacrosse in Jacksonville.
