A young Bolles squad (1-2) recovered from a close loss to Starr’s Mill (Atlanta) and a drubbing from Lake Highland Prep to beat district foe Fleming Island 9-5. After LSM Javi Garcia scored in the game’s opening seconds, scoring came at a premium. On a night were Bolles took 52 shots, the Fleming Island goalie showed great poise in recording over 20 saves and allowing his team to hold a 3-1 lead at one point. Led by senior captain Alex Ruiz, who had three goals and two assists, and two goals scored in the final six seconds of the second quarter, the Bulldogs took home the win as they look ahead to local rival, Ponte Vedra High School. Bolles will play at Ponte Vedra on Saturday.
