via press release   FLORIDA LAUNCH ACCEPT RESIGNATION OF HEAD COACH STAN ROSS     The Florida Launch today accepted the resignation of head coach Stan Ross. Ross’ resignation is effective immediately. Ross joined the Launch in 2014 as the first head coach in team history. Over three seasons as head coach, Ross has led the Launch to a 13-29 record. Ross will continue to focus his efforts as Dean of Students and head coach of boys’ lacrosse at Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Fl. “Stan is a consummate professional, we appreciate all the contributions that he made on behalf of the Florida Launch and wish him all the best going forward,” said Florida Launch President Brian Clinton. Clinton said that the Launch would immediately begin a search for Ross’ successor.  

Author’s Note:  I would like to thank Stan for all the time he gave me both as a representative of the team as well as a mentor in the technical knowledge of the sport.  Frankly, given his full-time positions at Oxbridge and with the youth programs I don’t know how he handled this position too and although the team did not make the playoffs his Oxbridge program has become a model for how to build a start-up program.  Not a lot of people would take on TWO start-up programs simultaneously and it’s a credit to him that he has taken both this far. I look forward to continuing to cover Coach Ross on the high school level and to continue to be able to learn from him in the future!
