Columbus Catholic Coach Jim Delang and his team parents did everything possible to make their guests from Kincaid High School in Texas feel welcome and comfortable Thursday night. For 48 minutes on the lacrosse field however, his players were downright inhospitable as they defeated the Falcons 22-12. Columbus Catholic improved to 9-1 on the season. Kincaid dropped to 3-2. The Explorers controlled the game throughout. Sr. F/O specialist Jimmy Perry served notice from the opening face off at x that this would be a long night for the Falcons. Perry, healthy after missing last season, is having about an 80% success rate on face offs, and he won 14 out of 18 times against Kincaid. His younger brother, sophomore Mike Perry, also had a good outing at the x, winning 75% of his face offs. The Explorers depth at the position is supplemented by Senior Nicky Quintairos. Their combined efforts allowed Columbus Catholic to dominate time of possession against Kincaid.
The Explorers received scoring contributions from 14 players as Coach Delang was able to distribute playing time for the majority of the roster. Senior Michael Bulnes led all scorers with 4 goals and 2 assists. Seniors Alec Carreras (4 goals, 1 assist), Cody Brais (4 goals, 1 assist), and Junior Kyle Glaser (3 goals 1 assist) each recorded hat tricks.
