From SaintLeoLions.com Wingate, N.C .- The Saint Leo men’s lacrosse team swept the Deep South Conference weekly awards, league officials announced Monday.  Sophomore attackman Chris Caiazza has been named the Deep South Conference Offensive Player of the Week, and is joined by sophomore defender Paul Aramanda as the Defensive Player of the Week, and goalie Dave Moore as the DSC Freshman of the Week. The trio helped lead the Lions to a pair of victories last week as the Green and Gold shut down Adams State by a score of 18-10, and conference opponent Lenoir-Rhyne by a final tally of 20-5. Caiazza piled up seven goals and five assists on the week to pick up his second Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season. He started his week by registeringa career-high eight points with five goals and three assists in the 10-8 win against Adams State. He had the game-winning goal in the contest as well. The Lindenhurst, N.Y. native capped his week with two goals and two assists in the Lions’ 20-5 conference win at Lenoir-Rhyne. Aramanda earns his first ever DSC weekly award as he helped anchor a Saint Leo defense that held opponents to 13 goals in two contests. The Huntington, N.Y. native caused three turnovers on the week, picking up six ground balls. In the Lions’ 20-5 DSC win at Lenoir-Rhyne, Aramanda registered an assist while collecting four ground balls. Moore registered 13 saves on the week for the Lions, helping Saint Leo stay in a tie atop the league standings at 4-1 in DSC play. Moore allowed only five goals in 74 minutes of action, compiling a save percentage of .722. In 27:11 of action against Adams State, Moore allowed just one goal while collecting three saves. He added 10 saves in 47:10 of action against Lenoir-Rhyne, giving up just four goals against the Bears. Moore also collected a pair of ground balls for the Lions.  This marks the third DSC weekly award for Moore, and first Freshman of the Week honor, as he’s been given the nod for Deep South Defensive Player of the Week twice already this season. The Saint Leo men’s lacrosse team returns to action on Saturday, March 23, when they host Wingate University in conference action.  Game time against the Bulldogs is slated for 1 p.m. at University Turf Stadium.  Fans who cannot make it to the game can catch all of the action live on the Saint Leo Sports Network at SaintLeoLions.com.   For the latest news, updates, and information, fans can ‘Like’ the Lions on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
