The Ponte Vedra Sharks beat a good team from Maclay tonight, winning 8-3 and increasing their record to 4-0. It was a well-fought match on a cold night in Ponte Vedra. The Sharks fielded a solid defense, holding Maclay to just three goals on 20 shots. Senior Luke Langford scored two for the Marauders. Miles Silva led Ponte Vedra’s attack, getting three goals in the first period. Rob Peeters scored two. Eric Applegate, Logan Taucher and Clay Welch each had one goal. Ponte Vedra dominated ball possession in the first half but Maclay challenged all the way to the end. Half of Sharks goalie Colin Peaks’ eight saves came in the fourth period.
