In January of this year, LaxChix coach/owner and Gulf Breeze High School Head Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach, Carlee Costello was hired by Walt Disney productions to be the lacrosse consultant for the Disney Channel movie, Invisible Sister staring Rowan Blanchard- Disney Star of “Girl Meets World” and directed by Paul Hoen, noted Disney director whose resume includes such Disney hits as “Camp Rock”, “Luck of the Irish” and “Cheeta Girls” and countless Disney Series such as “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”.    Coach Costello is well known throughout the Gulf Coast and Florida for her website and contacts with college coaches and the lacrosse community business owners. So when Disney’s Production team was searching for a girls lacrosse consultant they were directed to Coach Costello. Costello was tasked with training Stars Rowan Blanchard and Rachel Crow as well as several stunt actors on the fundamentals of girls lacrosse. She was also responsible for 8 scenes to be executed during filming. When asked to hire lacrosse players Coach Costello knew to look no further than her own players. LaxChix hired several girls from Gulf Breeze HS and Pensacola HS as well as players from Tulane University and LSU.  Coach Costello’s rehearsals took place in Gulf Breeze and Director Paul Hoen traveled to Pensacola to attend one Rehearsal to finalize casting of doubles.  Holley Meaney was cast of Rachel Crows lacrosse double and Michaela Pattison was cast a Rowan Blanchard’s double and can be seen in many of the lacrosse scenes as can many of the other Team LaxChix players cast. Players traveled to New Orleans to begin filming in late March of 2015 for 4 days. Invisbile Sister is the first feature made for TV movie to feature girls lacrosse game as part of the story line.  It airs OCTOBER 9 7pm central time on Disney Channel and will rerun through the month of October.
