Ferrino Has Career-High 21 Saves but Lynn Lacrosse Can’t Overcome NDNU

BOCA RATON, Fla.- Lynn’s goalkeeper Taylor Ferrino stopped 21 shots in the lacrosse team’s second game of the season. The Fighting Knights fell 15-9 to Notre Dame de Namur on Wednesday night in a non-region game. Freshmen Brian Kiel, Tyler Janvrin and Chris D’Angelo scored a pair of goals each in the loss. The Argonauts were led by Carter Olson who had a game-high five goals and three assists. Lynn fired first in the opening quarter when Joey Bacarella found the back of the net to put the Fighting Knights in front, 1-0. This is the second game in a row that Bacarella has given the Blue & White a lead to start the game. D’Angelo scored his first career goal with 7:25 remaining in the quarter. Janvrin found D’Angelo just inside the crease marking his fourth assist in two games. NDNU fired back scoring two goals in the final four minutes to tie the game 2-all at the end of the first. The Argo’s took a 3-2 lead 25 seconds into the second quarter when Jordan Wagner scored on a fast break, assisted by Devin LaPorte. Lynn evened the scoreboard when Tyler Janvrin ripped a shot from 15 yards out at 10:14. Notre Dame de Namur scored four unanswered goals over the next three minutes before Harrison Lynch scored his second career goal, unassisted, at 3:09. NDNU responded four seconds later on a fast break from the faceoff for an 8-5 lead that would hold until halftime. John Honea made the switch to goalie for Notre Dame de Namur for the second half. Jordan Wagner scored a man-up goal at 9:44 to put NDNU ahead 11-6.
