The annual season preview is being brought to you by the Lacrosse News Network Florida Classic! The Lacrosse News Network, Inc, parent company of FloridaLacrosseNews.com, is proud to announce the inaugural LNN Florida Lacrosse Classic, slated for February 27th in West LNN_Florida_Classic_Logo_Final-01_optPalm Beach, Florida. District 4 represents a big change this season as Bolles moves out of the three team district with Mandarin and Flemming Island into a six team district with all new opponents. Bolles graduated a ton of talent but should still be the favorite to take this district.  Bolles graduated Anthony Teixeira (Cornell) and Chris Rogowski.  The two teamed up for 11 of the Bulldogs 19 goals in last year’s district championship game.  However we expect junior middie Gray King to pick up the slack and become a true offensive force this season.  Also LSM/FO man Kyle Johnson is a serious difference maker and he his back.  We expect to hear a lot from him during his senior campaign. Bolles finished out a very tough schedule last year with an 8-6 record.  This year the schedule isn’t quite as brutal but they still have some tough non district games lined up.  Lake Mary, PV, and Bishop Moore.  Gone are Saint Andrew’s, Vero Beach, and IMG.  We expect Bolles to be able to compete for this district title and take away a winning season. Episcopal was 12-9 last season which looks great on the surface but they did struggle with the top half of the schedule.  That included a 14-5 loss to Bolles.  They did, however, play the other four teams in this district as well, winning them all handily.  We anticipate a Bolles vs Episcopal district final. Bishop Snyder is going to be doing some rebuilding this season after graduating 16 seniors. But should expect another solid season from Conner Scott.  The junior attackman has led the team in goals and assists in his freshman and sophomore seasons.  He should continue to be the main offensive weapon this year as well.  Look for contributions from some newcomers like  middies Jordan and Austin Jenkins.  Sophomores Dylan Pniewski, Jacob Clark, and Zachary Rogers all have a year of Varsity play under their belts and should make an impact for the Cardinals offense. The defense is anchored by junior Jacob Rogers and sophomores Shane Pniewski and Caleb Frazier (goalie.) Robert E Lee  has a new coach in Andrew Lopez.  He is looking for senior leadership from Kelton Nhiev (defense,) Mark Joiner (defense/LSM,) Ben Watson (attack,) and Bennet Honsberger (middie.)  Look for sophomre Mason Newbold to make an impact this season as well. Lopez may be new to Jacksonville but he has figured out who the rivals are already.  “…I do know my team is looking forward to playing Stanton seeing as they are the rival team and Lee’s head coach last year now coaches there. He took the teams trophy for runner up they earned last year and has failed to return it so we are very much looking forward to playing them.”  Uh oh. Paxon Head Coach Randy Evans and his staff our now in their second season with the Eagles.  They have been working hard to get the team competitive.  A core group of four senior captains return this season.  Goalie Richard Ticer, defensemen Come Abdullah and Chandler Luter, and Midfielder Daniel Fleming . Returning players Chaz Cox, CameronTerry,Luke Morgan, Reid Gruppa, Steven Long , Jacob Loveland , Sean Dobbins , Jamar Bethel and Ajay Patel are joined by first year players , John Montgomery , Blake Torres, DevinO’Neal , Taj Johson , Chase Welch and GageConnor .  The Eagles also have three freshman players practicing with our squad keeping an eye on the future. Stanton Prep was 5-3 in district play last season. Back to main preview page
