Final 4 Updates!

Written by fln on . Posted in .

What a night for Florida lacrosse!  On the girls’ side, Barron Collier defeated St. Thomas 12-9, Vero Beach topped Benjamin 13-3 (those scores are getting tighter ever year as the quality across the state improves), Ponte Vedra was victorious over Oak Hall 20-12 and the Oviedo Olympia game was postponed due to a touch of rain and the chance of a little wind.  The game is set today sometime around 5:00.  Check with the schools for the exact time.

orlandoradarIn the boys’ brackets, Lake Highland Prep was able to get its game in after a considerable delay, easily winning 20-3 against one of the teams of the future, a very young Dr. Phillips.  Benjamin won a fast and well played contest against Boca Raton 9-7, Ponte Vedra came from behind to defeat a stubborn Maclay 12-8, and in the game of the night, St. Thomas Aquinas eked out a thriller 9-8 in overtime against Barron Collier.  These two schools split back to back games at Barron Collier last evening.

Congratulations to all players and coaches!  Last night was probably the best single night statewide in Florida lacrosse history. Game stories will be posted throughout the day, and if you have girls’ photos and stories, please submit them to us at this link.  The tab for submitting game information is always at the top of our website, and we are happy to post your information. Below are the Girls’ Brackets and the Boys’ Brackets.  Home teams are in bold. Here is the link for finals tickets and here is FHSAA’s home page for the tournament with webcast information, directions, hotel information and more. Cheers!
