District 4  has Providence and Flethcer squaring off.  The winner will advance to play the winner of the District 3 playoff. These two teams met twice during the regular season with Providence winning handily both times. District 8 features a real battle.  Lake Mary versus Seminole.  Lake Mary would have to be considered the favorite but Seminole has been one of the states’ biggest surprises this season.  Back on March 5th the Rams escaped a near upset with a 9-8 win.  Many folks may be looking past this game but I assure you the Lake Mary coaches and players are not among them.  Lake Mary has some potent offensive weapons that should all be healthy for a play off run.  But Seminole’s Josh Williamson (Mercer) is a defensive force and will not provide an easy match up. Viera (14-4) will face off against Merrit Island (16-2) in District 17 tonight.  This district is a great symbol of the growth in our state.  The Friends of Brevard Lacrosse fought hard to get lacrosse is their schools and should be rewarded with a great district championship match up tonight. District 18 should see MCC “Hustle” off with the championship tonight.  They play Melbourne who they beat 23-0 during the regular season. District 31 will try take the “Fight of the Night” award away from district 8.  Columbus Catholic vs Gulliver Prep.  Gulliver came from behind Monday night to beat Ransom Everglades to make the finals and Columbus trailed a half time to oust Belen Jesuit.  These two team played an absolute shootout earlier this season that went down to the final minutes before Columbus just wore down Gulliver for a 19-15 win.  Could be a different story with 25 man rosters as Columbus normally plays lots of guys from a large roster. We encourage you to get out to one of these games in your area.  We’ll be at the Lake Mary vs Seminole game tonight, so stay tuned to @FloridaLX for updates on Twitter.
