Flagler came out with intensity and didn’t let up. FPC earned goals from 7 different players. One goal each for Ryan Aguirre, Nick Folk and Alec Noble. A hat-trick for Andrew Kemper. But an overpowering evening for FPC “Big Three” who despite the Matanzas attempts to shut them off still were able to add to the scoreboard with moderate ease. Wes Adams 3g4a, Shane Noble 6g1a, Cheyne Devens 3g, 5a. A great game by goalie Conor Bertha with 9 saves and 4 goals against.
One of Matanzas’s goals did catch the Flagler defense off guard. A wild and unusual shot from an nontraditional location by Tom Tarentola went right by the FPC defense. The Flagler defense was able to hold Matanzas to one goal per quarter.
FPC’s Ryan King was extremely successful on FaceOffs winning the clamp almost every time and going 12/22. FPC freshman defender Chris Forte played exceptionally well even when mismatched.
Tom Tarentola had two goals on the night to lead Matanzas.
A solid win in the New District and FPC improves to 4-2 (2-0 in district)
