Florida Launch Announces 2014 Schedule

Inaugural season begins with three-game home stand starting April 26

Boston (Nov. 22, 2013) – The Florida Launch, Major League Lacrosse’s newest team, announced the schedule for its 2014 inaugural campaign.While the club is still finalizing details about its home venue, to be announced at a later date,Florida fans can now plan ahead knowing the dates of all the home games.   The Launch will begin the season with three home games starting on April 26 as Head coach Stan Ross hosts his former team, the Denver Outlaws.  The homestand will continue on May 3, with a visit from the Charlotte Hounds and will close on May 10 when the Ohio Machine travel to Florida.   On May 17 the Launch will embark on its first road test with a tilt against the 2013 Champion Chesapeake Bayhawks in Annapolis, Md. The club will then have a bye for Memorial day weekend before traveling to Rochester to face the rattlers on June 1.   The Launch returns home on June 7 to host the New York Lizards and travels to Charlotte to face the Hounds on June 14.   The club will close out the month of June with two more home games against the Rattlers on June 20 and the Bayhawks on June 28.   On July 3 the Launch will kick off Independence Day weekend with a visit to New York in advance of another bye week to allow for the FIL World Games in Denver the weekend of July 12. Florida will then visit the Outlaws on July 20 before returning home for the final home game of the season on July 26 against the Cannons.   The Launch will close out the season on the road with a trip to Boston on August 2 and a trip to Ohio on August 9 that will mark the end of the regular season.   The top four teams in the league will square off the following weekend in the semifinals with the fourth seed visiting the top seed and the No. 3 seed traveling to the No. 2 seed. The winners of the two games will face off in the Championship on August 23 when the 2014 champion will be crowned.   Season and individual tickets will be on sale soon.
